I am a self-taught artist
who enjoys the variety of the English countryside and tolerates
the weather. After a career as a palaeontologist at The Natural
History Museum I have swapped old bones for old barns and like
nothing better than sketching in farmyards, among the oil drums
and barbed wire. Simple pleasures. Most of my paintings are of
the pure watercolour style but I also like to use egg tempera
because of its ability to reflect depth of colour as well as
texture.
I have been actively
involved in several local art societies for about 20 years and
have exhibited paintings locally as well as in London.
